MASSIVE January Book Haul

Hello, my friend! I hope February is treating you well and off to an extraordinary start! My husband and I just returned home from my birthday vacation and I finally had some time to sit down to write on my blog! During our vacation, I, of course, went book shopping once… or twice… or six times. I was also fortunate to be gifted a number of books as well and wanted to share this massive book haul with you!

Five Feet Apart by Rachael Lippincott, Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis. The B&N bookseller was raving about this book and another customer chimed in and agreed with her so of course I bought it! Peer pressure?
Wonder by R.J. Palacio. My younger sister raved about it and shoved it in my hands. The first chapter was great and I’m so excited to finish it (and maybe actually watch the movie??)
Midnight Sun by Trish Cook. Another of my sister’s recommendation and I’m glad for the breezy nature of the book. This one looks pretty cute as well!

Marked by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast. This one was an OG favorite back in high school and gave it to a friend, never to see it again. This is on my list of re-reads for this year. Leave down in the comments if you’ve read the Marked series.
Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin. I had to buy another copy of GoT because my old lady eyes couldn’t read the normal smaller edition and had a LOT of trouble reading it (along with headaches and tired eyes. Gee, how old do I sound?)
Serial by John Lutz. This book caught my eye in the bargain rack and I couldn’t stop from peeking at the first chapter and was immediately sucked in! I can’t wait to finally sit down and devour this thriller.

Cinder by Marissa Meyer. This has been on my TBR pile for a LONG time! I’ve always been a sucker for fairytale remakes and this series has been one of the top in the genre for a long time!
East by Edith Pattou. I haven’t seen anything about this book on Instagram or Twitter but immediately fell in love with the blurb on the back. I think my soul is craving a story with a polar bear ever since The Golden Compass and Narnia.
The Black Witch by Laurie Forest. I haven’t read a witch book in long while and just from the cover, I was transfixed. I can feel a whirlwind of a story waiting between the pages.

Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth. Okay I’m sure you and everyone you know has heard of the Divergent series and its talented author, Veronica Roth. I’m a huge fan but I couldn’t immediately pick it up becuase of how the final book ended. But I reread the blurb and watched the shiny cover and threw it in the basket. I’ll let you know how I feel later on.
Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan. This is a FIERCE cover and stole my breath. The inside cover sold me on the plot and I absolutely had to buy it. I have no idea why I’ve waited so long to pick it up but I’m thrilled to read it!
Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. This series has been everywhere in the booksphere! I’ve always intended on buying it but the store never has stock. I finally bought the last one in the store and couldn’t be more giddy!
The Glittering Court by Richelle Mead. Another OG author of my high school days! I love her books and had to pick this one up as well! I love anything glamourous and whimsical with some romance.

Burning Glass by Kathryn Purdie. This book just screamed out at me to buy it. The back cover was incredibly interesting and the Bismarck Sapphire Necklace on the front was absolutely stunning! It’s something I had to have….
The Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J. Maas. I have yet to read this installment of the Throne of Glass series and would like to get to know some of the connections and characters that popped up in Kingdom of Ash. Plus, it’s Sarah J. Maas, how could I not? Let me know your thoughts on the novellas down in the comments!
The Last Namsara by Kristen Ciccarelli. This book looks amazing and I’m impatient to start. I haven’t seen it too much on social media but will let you know my thoughts on Instagram and/ or on Dreaming of Words!

Ash Princess by Laura Sebastian. THIS IS EVERYWHERE AND I’M SO EXCITED TO FINALLY HAVE IT IN MY HANDS. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.
An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. This book is just about everywhere on social media and I am bursting at the seams to finally be able to read it! I follow Sabaa on Twitter and she is absolutely fantastic!
Grave Mercy by Robin Lafevers. I love anything medieval and with dark elements. This book tugged at my heart until I finally purchased it. Definitely high on my TBR pile.

Crooked Kingdom, King of Scars, and Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo. Soooo I sort of am late to the Grishaverse and to the end of my days, will regret that decision. This series is AMAZING and I’m extremely invested! I’m reading Six of Crows and Siege and Storm currently and my world is absolutely magical. I’m definitely posting reviews of the books soon… probably when I’m done inhaling them.

Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. This book spoke to me in the store. Literally, I was staring at this book in the aisle for solid minutes before I numbly put it in the basket. I’ve heard raves (and lots of emotions) about this books and am anxious to let these powerful words wash over me. Have you read this book yet?
The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway. I was gifted this book by the sweetest of my friends. She’s one of my biggest cheerleaders and her gifting me this book made the water works gush out. I’m so so so excited to finally read this masterpiece.

If you’ve read any of these books, let me know your thoughts down in the comments!
